Hi Folks,

This list hasn't been very active lately, but I've been doing some research
and thought I'd tell you about something that I've come across that looks
really fascinating.

I went into RootsWeb's site yesterday and followed the link to the
WorldConnect project they recently started. I added my GedCom to the site
back on the first day it was available in October. There are now enough
GedCom's on the WorldConnect Project to make searching it worth everyone's
while. I found several connections yesterday in doing this. You don't have
to have your GedCom on the site to search it of course, but it would make it
easier for people to find you if you added it. Remember you have complete
control over what you allow to be published on that GedCom. Don't worry
about putting in names of living individuals, there's an option to not
publish those names.

Go to the following address and check it out:

http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/

To see my GedCom go to:

http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SRCH&db=davictor
&surname=A

Don't forget you can also see a list of the names I'm working in the RootsWeb
Surname List at:

http://rsl.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/rslsql.cgi?op=submitter&user=davictor

It's a good idea to use these resources, not only to search, but submit too
and make it easier for other people to find you. All these services mentioned
above are absolutely free.

Good Luck and hope to hear from the rest of you soon,

Betsy Hale
