Hello all,
Thanks to Mandy for sending the 1861 image of Henry age 23, wife Mary 23,
and children Kate 4, Clara 3, Henry W. 2. Although the occupation of
Shoemaker doesn't agree with later occupation of Barber, the age and
birthplace of Newport are close enough that I think I'll have to order the
marriage certificate just to make sure.
Thanks again, Janet

Subject: [IoW] William Henry URRY - unwanted? birth certificate & 1861
lookup
> Hello everyone,
> I just received a birth certificate for William Henry URRY - born 27 Feb
1859 at Lugley Street, Newport - son of Henry URRY, Journeyman Shoemaker and
Mary URRY, formerly URRY. The William Henry URRY I was looking for was son
of David URRY and Mary LOCKE.

> However the certificate brought up another question. My Gt.Grandfather
was Henry URRY who emigrated to Canada in 1860 (according to 1901 Cdn
census). He had a history of "fleeing" whenever times got tough or the whim
hit him, and I am wondering if the Henry URRY, father of William Henry URRY,
is "mine".

> Could someone please find Henry, Mary and William Henry URRY on the 1861
census, likely at Newport. If father Henry is there (mine was born 16 Jun
1838), I'm likely out of luck on this connection. If he is not, I'll order
the 1856 marriage certificate for Henry URRY and Mary URRY to see if Henry's
father is Stephen (my Gt.Gt.Grandfather).
