Hi John
I think it is Wickham Heath which is near Wickham in the South Stoneham
parish.
Wickham is featured on our website, and is a few miles due north of
Portsmouth.
There are two Stonehams, North and South by the way. North Stoneham is
to the North of Southampton and comes down as far as Eastleigh while
South Stoneham carries on from Swaythling eastwards.

Subject: [IoW] Stoneham Hants?
Can anyone help with a problem I have with a location
One of my subjects, in the 1881 census is listed with a birthplace of "
Wickenheith Nr Stoneham"
The only Stoneham I can find is near Southampton but no reference to a
Wickenheith (or Heath) nearby - has anyone an idea where this could be
Thanks
John
