Greetings,

My Grandfather, Samuel Ash [ born abt.1871, Newport Isle of Wight] may have
served in the Boer War.

When visiting the I.O.W. recently I saw the name - ' Ash S., Trooper,
Kimberley Light Horse', recorded on an Honour Board, situated in the Water
Mill Museum at Calbourne, Isle of Wight. The board was a record of soldiers
from Newport who fought in the Boer War.

Could someone let me know if there is any way, via records or otherwise,
that I can verify whether this person is in fact my Grandfather.
