Hi Cynthia

It sounds as though you need to document your great great grandparents'
marriage and her birth as first steps, and then you may be able to
establish who 'Sir Foster' was. He must have been Sir Somebody Foster -
you may be able to identify him in a reference book such as Burke's or
Debrett's Peerage, Baronetage and Knightage of the period. Medical sites
such as that of the Wellcome Institute website might suggest other
directions for researching him.

I am only aware of this local physician on the Isle of Wight who became
the Queen's doctor at Osborne and was knighted - Sir William Hoffmeister
who had a practice at Cowes. Philip Aubrey produced 'A Growing Tree' a
history of the family - the IW Record Office should hold a copy, or the
Local Collection at the Lord Louis Library in Nepwort. It gives some good
background information on a medical family and on working with the royal
family.

Hope you are able to discover the reality behind your lovely romantic
family story

Di
