This may have been the 304 ton steam yacht FAIR GERALDINE? If so she was
on the Royal Yacht Squadron List 1880 - 82 owned by the Rt Hon Lord Otho
Fitzgerald. She was registered at Leith. The RYS does not have anything
in the way of crew records but there is a leaflet about yacht crew on the
rys website at http://www.rys.org.uk which might help - for example you
might perhaps be able to find a crew list for the vessel which would
confirm his address, age and place of birth. You might want to look at
the Mariners List website too.

There was a RYS 506 ton steam yacht PANDORA on the RYS List 1881 - 91
owned by the Rt Hon W H Smith MP; she was registered at London.
