Thanks for that titbit. He does sound quite plausible - as my records imply
that Henry was born in 1861 and married 1882.
I am researching my first "Pommy" certificate, so I'll let you know.

In the 1881 census (just before your gtgrandfather was married) there is a
Henry A COOPER, aged 20 (unmarried) who was a mason and lodging in Ventnor
(IoW). He was born in Sandgate, Kent. Can't say whether he is yours, as
COOPER is a common name, but it's worth considering.
