I certainly agree with Bob and Sue about including the original message with the response.
Yesterday, I received an email from someone who was responding to a message I sent out before Christmas. Her message read, "I am sorry for the long delay in answering your message and sorry that I cannot help. My line came from NY not MA."
I have no idea who she was talking about in MA since I am researching a whole bunch of families from MA.
One further suggestion I would like to make and that is on the subject line of email messages, the sender should put the family name, time from and if possible the county and state. I know that is not always possible to put in the time and place, but it certainly would save the reader a lot of time if the family name was put in that subject line.

So often I read a "thanks" or answer and have no idea what the response is regarding. Often the response includes helpful info that would be helpful to additional people reading the list if the forgoing message was included. Thanks!
