A surprise dinner was given Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Skirvin on the Hill and Buskirk farm near Stinesville in honor of Mrs. Skirvin’s 40th birthday. About forty people were there and enjoyed a most bountiful dinner, all relatives of Mrs. Skirvin and most all from and near Bloomington. Those present were: James Alexander and wife, Charles Rogers and wife, Walter Chitwood and wife, Milt Skirvin and wife, Jessie and Leona Skirvin, Earnest Alexander, wife and children, Curt Anderson, wife and children, Harry Anderson, wife and children, Mrs. Wm. Hamilton, Mrs. Dove Beasley, Ed Thompson, Elizabeth, Dale and Arthur Thompson, Flo Alexander, Roger Alexander, Cari Bowman, wife and baby, John Skirvin and wife and Elbert and Melville Skirvin. Music was furnished throughout the day by different ones. Mrs. Skirvin received may pretty and useful presents and all had a delightful time and left wishing her many more happy birthdays.
