Subject: Van Camp experiment could make useland land in Monroe County, Indiana valuable
Date: Mon, 5 Dec 2005 19:39:53 -0800 (PST)

Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, August 31, 1910, p.1

The Telephone is glad to know that the first experiment of the Van Camp people in raising tomatoes in Benton township, this county, is proving a success. It gives promise of further developments.

The fact is that much land that is now useless could be made valuable by introducing garden produce for the use of these canning factories. They pay good prices and quick returns are assured. Not only this, but employment is given to labor in the community. Some day ground in Monroe county that is now idle and worthless is sure to bring good returns in this way, and at very little expense.
