Woman In Trouble

Charged with shoplifting, Mrs. Edward Oury, west 2nd street, appeared before Mayor Harris yesterday afternoon and was placed under a $500 bond to appear in circuit court. It is alleged that Mrs. Oury stole two pretty silk kimonos from the Campbell & Co. store. The kimonos were missed at different times after Mrs. Oury had been in the store which lead to the matter being placed in the hands of the police.

The two kimonos were found at the Oury home by Policeman Hinkle after a search warrant has been issued. They were found concealed in a trunk. Mrs. Oury was arrested although she claimed that she purchased the articles. Mrs. Oury has been in trouble before, having served a sentence in the local jail only a few months ago for contributing to the delinquency of 16-year-old girl.
