Friday Rev. J. D. Barr, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, and his sister, Miss Frances, received a letter announcing the death of their mother in Salkot, India, of Bright's disease.

The news was not entirely unexpected as a letter last week announced that instead of coming home June 1st as expected that Mrs. Barr was taken ill, and they could not make the journey. She was seventy years old, a native of Pennsylvania, and had been a missionary for forty years. The body was buried in the missionary cemetery of the town where the death occurred.
