OBITUARY
The Passing of a Good Man
The death of J. William Hamilton has left a shock to the many friends who knew him.
He was born near Lexington, Ky., Dec 5, 1861; died Aug 31, 1929.
When a very young man he expressed his faith in God and became affiliated with the M. E. Church and has held a membership at Cross Roads Church since 1880.
For years Mr. Hamilton has been in poor health. Last December he contracted the flu and could not recover from it.
Although his family did everything available to aid his recovery, he continued worse until the end.
He leaves to miss his dear presence--his wife, Mrs. Rosa Hamilton; sons, Joseph, Ralph, Glen; daughters, Mrs. Mary Freeman, Mrs. Bessie Freeman and one sister, Mrs. Mollie E. H. Moffatt.
The funeral services were held at the Cross Roads Church on Monday at 2 o'clock and burial at the M. E. Cemetery at Ellettsville. The services were conducted by Rev. Quine Furgeson and Rev. Ralph Minton...The pall bearers were Winfred Moffatt, Marvin Hamilton, Albert Cox, Theodore Hamilton, J. O. Freeman, William Hamilton. The honorary pall bearers were Omer Bunger, R. E. Darnaby, Sr., R. E. Darnaby, Jr., Indianapolis; Finis Clay, Harrodsburg; Dewey Wood...
