Bloomington, Ind., Dec. 31. – Mrs. Nellie Howard, wife of Harry Howard,
owner of the Howard dog and pony shows, died Saturday at Colorado
Springs, Colo. Mrs. Howard was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S.
Payne of this city, and after her marriage to Mr. Howard, ten years ago,
she went on the stage, and under the stage name of Nellie Esmond did
clever work. She was 35 years old and the cause of her death was
consumption. The body will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery here
tomorrow.
