Before spending any money I think I'd wait for Pam to return. Whoever told you
the microfilm collection was kind of a mess was kind of right. What really
is/was a mess is the identification of items in the collection. Each microfilm
in the colletion usually contains several very different items, e.g., pictures
from a scrapbook of WWII, a church membership list, early school records, will
records, etc. Within the last few years the library has tried to create an
index to the records. The index is in a big gray notebook behind the
librarian's desk. It has been my experience that those who do not work a
significant number of hours in the Indiana Room don't know the notebook is
there or what is in it.
