Edward Stevens of Ellettsville, the oldest son of James and Martha Stevens,
died at his boarding house two miles southeast of Gosport, Friday, July
16th. He was a stone cutter and had been working at Gosport. Being
troubled with the toothache he decided to have the tooth extracted, which
he did. The pain being so great, he subjected to heart trouble resulting
in death. The remains were brought to his father's home Saturday, and the
funeral occurred Sunday morning, the services being in charge of Eld.
Shumaker. Deceased was 22 years of age. He united with the Baptist Church
at Ellettsville last December.
