SUICIDE OF YOUNG MAN OF BROWN COUNTY

Near Mooresville Monday morning Delmer Taber, from Brown County, aged about
28, and who had been doing farm work for Charles Plummer, hung himself in
the barn. When Mr. Plummer went to the barn he found him with his feet
almost to the floor. He had made a loop of a rope with a ring on one end,
the other end fastened to a beam in the mow and had hung himself by jumping
from a wagon wheel. The ring in the end of the rope had buried itself
against his chin and death resulted fro a broken neck and not
fromstrangulation. The body was shipped to Columbus and the funeral
services were held in Brown County. The case was very pitiful. The young
man seemed to deplore the fact that he had formed the drink habit and spoke
frequently of his resolution to quit. This and a pitiful letter from his
mother may have been the cause of the death.
