Subject: [INMONROE] Death - Rev. T. B. Stewart

Bloomington Weekly Telephone, August 12, 1892, p. 4

A copy of the San Francisco Chronicle of Aug. 1st has been received in which appears an account of memorial services in honor of the late Rev. T. B. Stewart. The platform was occupied by the leading clergymen of the city; over the pulpit hung draperies of black crepe with the inscription in black letters, “our loss is his gain,” and the platform and organ were piled with beautiful floral tributes. The church of which Rev. Stewart was the pastor, was founded by him in 1883, with a nucleus of 10 members. The building was erected two years later, free of debt, and at the time of the pastor’s death he was looking forward to building a new church, and had gathered a large sum of money for that purpose.
