A FARMER'S SUDDEN INSANITY
Edward Jackson, a prominent farmer of Washington Township, about 6 miles
north of the city, became suddenly insane Saturday and grew very
violent. Friends of the unfortunate man feared that he might do something
rash and brought him to the city and placed him in jail Sunday
afternoon. It required six strong men to keep him under subjection. Later
in the day an insanity commission composed of Drs. L. T. Lowder and C. E.
Harris and Justices Kelly and Axtell, held an inquest at the jail and
decided to make application for Jackson's admission to the hospital at
Indianapolis. Mr.Jackson is 58 years of age and has a wife and three children.
