Danville Editor and his Wife Have Narrow Escape
(Danville Republican) Mr. and Mrs. Julian D. Hogate and granddaughter Sarah had a narrow escape from serious injury Sunday. Coming to Danville on the Rockville road west of New Winchester they laid over to allow a machine to pass. Their machine went down in the soft dirt into a ditch perhaps six feet deep. Before it could be stopped it struck a small tree by the side of the ditch. The windshield was broken into many pieces and the top badly torn. Tourists stopped and several men came out from New Winchester and with the kindly assistance of all the machine was pulled into the road coming to Danville under its own power, there being no damage done save to the windshield and top. None of the occupants were hurt.
Mr. and Mrs. Hogate are well known in Bloomington and visit here frequently, as Mrs. Hogate is a sister of the Cravens Brothers.
