300 Machines in Monroe County
- Increase of Taxable Property-Interesting Facts of the Assessment

Monroe county is going to have more property on the duplicate next year, it was predicted yesterday by B. V. Sudbury, county assessor. He believes the complete reports of the township assessors will show an increase in the taxable property.

According to the assessor's record there are more automobiles in Monroe county than horses. The average assessment of automobiles is approximately $280 in the city of Bloomington and $225 in the county. Higher priced machines in the city than county districts cause this, Mr. Sudbury said. Final reports will show nearly 3,000 automobiles in the county, according to present indications.

Household goods in the city are listed at an average of about $175 per family, while those in the county outside of Bloomington will show about $46. More than $99,600 heads of poultry were assessed at $7.00 per dozen. Other averages reached approximately $45 for horses, $60 for farm implements, cattle $30, sheep $4.00, and hogs $20, according tot he county assessor's incomplete report.
