WOMAN WINS SUIT OVER A TREE
Mrs. Mary Lampkins of Salt Creek Township, was awarded judgment for $15 by
the petit jury in her suit for damages against Perry Butcher whose farm
adjoined hers. The tree, which it is said stood almost on the line that
separated the two farms, was claimed by Mr. Butcher who applied the
woodman's ax to it and received $17 out of it. Mrs. Lampkins had brought
suit for $25.
