RAID TIGER'S LAIR
Raiding three suspicious houses Sunday morning, Deputy Prosecutor Louden,
Chief Johns and Sheriff Ratliff found evidence of a blind tiger at the home
of Nick DiLoreta, South Buckner Street, that led them to file charges of
keeping a tiger against Nick who is a well known Italian. The officers got
about a dozen pints of beer and about the same of whiskey bottles
full. DiLoreta was not at home when the raid was made and when Sheriff
Ratliff returned in the afternoon to arrest him, the Italian took to his
heels. The Sheriff followed and was about to open up on the man with an
automatic revolver when he stopped. He gave bond.
