How would you handle these situations in your research report and
why?
(1) you discover in your research that an individual was the result of
something other than a natural birth, e.g., adoption, artificial
insemination, or surrogate parent.
Answer: I would not publish that information in my research report. I
would keep it in my records and for my information only. This kind of
information has the potential to do great harm to an individual whether
psychologically or from peer pressure.

Let me offer one downside to this - though there are others. Some people
need genealogical information for medical reasons. The withholding of this
information could - and I stress could for this is not an everyday need -
mean the difference in a life-and-death situation for someone. This is
especially true if anyone else is unlikely to find the information
independently.
This isn't a solution to the problem but a perspective on what a researcher
may decide.
