I, John Sherlock of said county and state, being of sound and disposing
mind and memory and being over the age of 21 years, do hereby make and
publish this as my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills be me
heretofore made.

Item One--I will and direct that after my death that all my just debts and
funeral expenses be paid by my executors hereinafter named out of the
proceeds of my personal or real estate as they deem best.

Item Two--I will and bequeath all my estate both real and personal after
the paymnet of my debts as aforesaid to my beloved wife, Malinda Sherlock,
during her natural life, and at her death I will and direct that all that
remains be sold and that the proceeds be equally divided between my
children and their descendants subject to the following advancements
heretofore made to the following heirs, namely: Stephen Sherlock, eight
hundred dolllars; Annie M. Sciscoe, seven hundred and fifty dollars;
Bridget S. Adams, two hundred dollars; Mary Pate, three hundred dollars,
and that interest be counted on said advancements at three percent from the
date of my death to the death of my wife, Malinda Sherlock.

Item Three--I will and direct that my said executors hereinafter named be
fully empowered hereby to sell any or all of my real estate after the death
of my wife, Malinda Sherlock, either at public or private sale without any
order or decree of court therefore in such sums and at such prices as they
deem best. With full power to make deed thereto to the purchasers and
should it become necessary to sell any of my real estate to pay my debts
the same shall be sold by my executors as above stated or without first
procuring an order therefore.

Item Four--I hereby nominate and appoint Newton K. McFadden and Frances H.
Sherlock as executors of my said will with the request that should my
friend, R. A. Fulk, be living at my death that he assist my said executors
in the settlement of my estate.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of
April 1898.
