W. C. WINSTANDLEY DEAD
William C. Winstandley passed away Monday night at nine o'clock at his late
home in Bedford after a short illness of pneumonia which developed from a
heavy cold contracted last week at Chicago where he and Mrs. Windstandley
were attending a musical convention and, in the passing, Bedford loses one
of her representative citizens who though not native born has been a
resident since sixteen years of age and had been vitally identified with
the growth and prosperity of the city.
In 1884 he was president of the Hoosier Stone Company, Vice President and
Treasurer of the Bedford and Bloomfield Railroad Company; Director in the
Southwestern Overland Telephone and Telegraph Company, Kentucky and Indiana
Bridge Company, New Albany Steam Forge Works, New Albany Water Works, and
New Albany Banking Company. Bedford Mail
