FOLLOWS HUSBAND TO GRAVE

Mrs. S. D. Vaughn died at her home in Polk Township May 14, 1917, after a
lingering illness of several weeks. Her husband, having preceded her only
six days. They were the oldest pioneer settlers of Polk Township being 83
and 86 years of age. They had lived together about 67 yeras.

They had five daughters and two sons and many grandchildren and great
grandchildren and other relatives to mourn their departure.

Funeral services were conducted at Gilgal by the Rev. Badger of
Heltonville. Burial in the cemetery there.
