I have been virtuously tackling my filing this weekend (in preparation for visitors!), and while I was looking over a marriage application record which included my paternal grandmother and grandfather, I noticed that the first name on the page was a William Deckard. I remember that when I first joined the list there was a lengthy discussion of Deckards, so I decided I would put this information on the list.

William Deckard; Monroe Co.; age 22; color, light; farmer; b. Monroe Co.; father: Wm. G. Deckard; mother: Sallie Kinser; 1st marriage; bride: Martha E. Smith; Monroe Co.; age 27; color, light; b. Monroe Co.; father: John Smith; mother's maiden name, Eads; 1st marriage; place of marriage, Monroe Co.; married by Wm. M. Kinser on Sept. 4, 1893.
