Bloomington (IN) Republican Progress, January 5, 1881, p. 3.

Ed. Gregory, a well-known engineer and of late years a conductor on the
L.N.A.&C. railroad, died at his home in New Albany on Saturday morning of
dropsy. The remains were brought to this place on the noon train Monday
for burial and services were held at the depot. All the funeral
arrangements were taken charge of by the Order of Odd Fellows, deceased
being a member of Cecelia Lodge, Bloomington. There was about $5,000 of
insurance on his life.
