Jackson Pope died late yesterday afternoon at his home in South Park after
a short illness of pneumonia. A daughter of Mr. Pope died about three
weeks ago. He was 68 years old and was born in Floyd County. He was
married in 1878 to Eliza Garrison and to this union nine children were
born, seven of whom are living as follows: Riley, Charles, Alice, Arthur,
Clarence, John, Frances, Ray, Howard, and Mrs. Alice Turner. The deceased
was a teamster. He was a member of the College Avenue M. E. Church and Dr.
Tincher will conduct the funeral service tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock
at the house. The interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.
