The Louisville, New Albany and Chicago railroad will have their share of
lawing to do in court the coming term, all of which goes to show that it is
getting to be a great road and doing lots of business. Daniel Phillips,
the boy who had his leg cut off a year ago last Christmas, while crossing
the track at the depot, will bring suit for $20,000, through his attorneys,
East & East. The same firm will enter suit for Mrs. Susan J. Holland, an
old lady of Ellettsville, who claims to have been injured to the extent of
$5,000 by the train starting too soon when she was attempting to board it,
she being a lady of sixty or more. Buskirk and Duncan will ask for $10,000
damanges for the death of Andrew Woollery, who was killed near Harrodsburg
last November.
