I've heard privately from several members of INMONROE regarding the best
place to put obits. After taking a second, long look at the GenConnect
Board and looking beyond Monroe County which has been sadly neglected, I do
think this is a good place with lots of power to search for a name across
the state. The search capabilities may be even broader, but I think a
state-wide search for a name is terrific.

Because I don't have the ability to build a web site at this point in my
life, and because something as big as GenConnect far exceeds the capability
of something most people could build, I think GenConnect is the way to go.
If anyone is opposed to this idea, please advise me accordingly with
counter-arguments.

Angel, you said you might be willing to help by entering obits received
from INMONROE into another site. As you could be a key player in this,
what are your thoughts about GenConnect? I'm going to try to enter
information by cutting and pasting text from Eudora, my e-mail software,
just to see if it works.

With every entry on GenConnect, there is an opportunity to link to another
site. I wonder if it would be feasible to link to the INMONROE archives?

Thanks to all of you who responded to my question on the obituary issue and
to those who nudged me again in the GenConnect direction even when I drug
my feet.
