Bloomington Telephone, February 6, 1893, p. 1.
Henry B. Abram is the captor of a large black eagle. The bird is one of
the largest every captured in the county, being fully 7 feet from tip to
tip. It was captured at Richland Church, near White Hall. When first seen
it was on the ground and while Abram was attempting to shoot, it started to
fly but a shot from his gun stopped its flight. It dropped to the ground
but was not killed as it proved when an attempt was made to pick it up.
