Bloomington Weekly Telephone, April 23, 1881, p. 4.
On the evening of March 29th a number of friends and invited guests
assembled at the residence of Mayor Hopkins to witness the nuptials of Miss
Josephine Hopkins, niece of the Mayor, and Mr. Robert Galloway. Eld.
Maupin of the Christian Church officiating. A few minutes after seven the
Bride an Bride-groom, proceeded by Mr. Geo. Macafee and Miss Gertie Gruses
as groomsman and bridesmaid entered the parlor. The ceremony that made
them man and wife was the brief, beautiful and (most impress(ive) we have
ever listened to. The bride is a native of Bloomington, Ind. During her
sojourn here she has through her amiablity made many friends, who will be
lost to give her up, but Bob, the genial, clever, social Bob has won her
and deserves her. Josie looked radient, Bob's everlasting smile had
lengthened, deepened and broadened until he appeared to be the very
personification of happiness.
