Bloomington Weekly Telephone, Sep 24, 1881.

Uncle Jacob Bunger, our citizens will be grieved to hear, is lying at
death's door. Mr. Bunegr, it will be remembered, last October was thrown
from a buggy by a runaway team on North College Avenue. He was taken into
the house of Rev. McNary where it was found a thigh had been broken and his
head severely bruised. He was taken home and since has been confined to
his bed suffering almost undurable pain at times. Though absent from the
public, that tall stately frame so characteristic of the veteran
Virginianns, in which he took great pride in being, has by no means been
forgotten, nor the good natured heart so full of good will and absent of
that spite so apt to human nature.
