Republican Progress, July 9, 1895, Salt Creek items. "Henry W. Lucas died
Saturday, June 29, of dropsy, and was buried Sunday at the Lucas graveyard
near Smithville. Deceased was about 56 years old and was a son of John
Lucas, who died in June, 1893."
Bloomington Telephone, January 19, 1886, Salt Creek items. "Died, at his
mother's residence in Salt Creek Township, Wednesday, January 13thm 1888,
Willie Johnson. Deceased was about 24 years of age and had been an invalid
all of his life. J.B.E."
No date or source noted, Salt Creek items. "Mrs. Sallie Lampkins died
Sunday, May 15, 1887, aged 81 years, 9 months and 20 days. Deceased was
one of the old pioneers having resided in this county 60 years. She had
been a church member for 40 years."
Bloomington Courier, November 23, 1885, Salt Creek items. "Mr. Aaron Rayl
died Friday, May 8th . Mr. Rayl formerly lived in Knox County, Indiana.
Deceased was an upright citizen and highly esteemed by all who knew him."
Bloomington Courier, May 21, 1887, Salt Creek items. "Mrs. Ann Snyder,
wife of James Snyder, died at her house in Martin County recently. Mrs.
Snyder formerly lived here and was a sister of Andrew and H. T. Jacobs and
Mrs. Rhoda Butcher."
Bloomington Courier, December 24, 1886, Salt Creek itmes. "The funeral of
Mrs. Barbara J. Sexton wife of James Sexton was preached at Friendship
Church on Sunday, November 21. Rev. Frallkill delivered the discourse..."
No source or date noted, Salt Creek items. This particular column included
a chronological list of important events occurring in the township during
1885.

This is the last of the obits pulled from the Salt Creek file. Several of
you sent me a note and told me you appreciated these so I will continue to
go through other files and glean what information is available as time
permits.
