Linda, I found the Hugh P. Murphy family in the 1920 Indiana Census--Monroe
County, compiled by Mita Wilsey Glass and published by the Monroe County
Historical Society in 1998. The family was noted in Perry 2 Township on
page 4000, house #106, family #134. Perry is the township immediately
south of Bloomington.
Hugh P. Murphy, head, M, 52, KY, IREL IREL
Kate Murphy, wife, F, 44, GERM, GERM, GERM
Georgiana Murphy, dt, F, 18, IN, KY, GERM
Brisben, James, nephew, M, 15, IN, KY, GERM
Brisben, George, nephew, M, 13, IL, KY, GERM
I don't find them in my CEMETERIES OF MONROE COUNTY DEATH INDEX
C/1830-1990, published in 1993. They may be noted in a later, revised
edition of this book or in a cemetery that was not included, e.g., Rose
Hill. I would also suggest using a Bloomington City Directory to track
them after 1920.
