Hi List members,

My name is Cathy Riddle O'Connor. I'm from Michigan. I've been researching
the RIDDLE, PARKS, ANDERSON, and allied families of Monroe County for several
years. Thank you for creating this list. I'm sure it will be most helpful to
all.

I have been searching for clues to the parents and siblings of William RIDDLE,
b 19 March 1803 (per tombstone) in KY or VA (per children's census); married
Polly PARKS in 1830 in Monroe Co, IN; died 13 September 1840 in Monroe Co, IN;
buried in Amstrong/Bell/Parks Cemetery.

Their children:
William T RIDDLE, 1831-1892, married #1 Nancy ANDERSON, #2 Harriet SIDERS (may
be been another in between)
Priscilla Caroline RIDDLE, 1835-1890, married #1 Andrew B ANDERSON (Nancy's
brother), #2 George SAULSBERRY
George Marion RIDDLE, 1837-1910, married Esther SNYDER
(my line)
Harrison H RIDDLE, 1839-1934, married *1 Sarah WHISNAND/WHISMAND, #2 Margreat
MORRIS

Polly PARKS, the children's mother married John Ridgeway and later married
John E ANDERSON after the death of William RIDDLE - John E was the brother of
Nancy and Andrew ANDERSON mentioned above.

This family kinda fits the song, "I am my own grandpa" : )

This RIDDLE family lived in section 17, township 9, NRW1 of Monroe County (I
think is Bloomington Twp). Following the death of William RIDDLE in 1840, the
children were under the guardianship of Samuel JUDAH and the estate was
administrated by David JUDAH. After their mother married John RIDGEWAY, I
believe they continued to live on the RIDDLE family land in section 17, twp 9.

The children eventually all ended up in Marshall County, Indiana near the town
of Plymouth. Some of our RIDDLE family still lives there.

In the 1830 Monroe County census, there was a John RIDDLE listed on page 147
and my William RIDDLE listed on page 158.
Also, there was a George Washington RIDDLE 1807-1892 married to Margaret
JOHNSON in Monroe County by 1850 living in Marion Township. Anyone know
anything about this John RIDDLE or George Washington RIDDLE? Are they
connected to my William RIDDLE?

Would appreciate any hearing from anyone about any of the above families. Have
plenty to share and always looking for a new cousin.

Thanks for including me on the list.

Best Regards,
Cathy Riddle O'Connor
