Mr. Nolan was born near Emmetsburg on June 8, 1867. He was 78 years old.
In 1900 he was married to Elizabeth Quinn in Graettinger. They made their
home on a farm near Graettinger and have continued to reside there. Mr.
Nolan was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his
wife and ten children, Mrs. A. F. Lowenberg, of Goodell, Iowa; Mrs. Lawrence
Smith of Wesley; Mrs. Andy Johnson of Humboldt; Mrs. Henry Theil of Ringsted,
Mrs. W. Hughes, Mrs. W. Joyce and Robert Nolan, all of Graettinger and

Nolan is in the service in England. One brother, M. F. Nolan of St. Louis,

survive. He is preceded in death by three children, who died in infancy.
One of the fine substantial citizens of the county, Mr. Nolan was well-liked

the family in their loss.
