Funeral Services held for Mrs. Mary Verwiel, 92, Emmetsburg

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Verwiel, 92, Emmetsburg, were held June
12 at Assumption Catholic church, with the Reverend Elmer Thom, pastor,
officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home
in charge. Mrs. Verwiel died June 9 at Haywood Nursing Home.

Mrs. Verwiel was born in Emmetsburg December 4, 1887, the daughter of Christopher
and Rose Ann Murphy Clare. She was married to Adrian Verwiel and was a
life long resident of Emmetsburg. Survivors include four brothers: Leo
of Estherville, Vincent of Knoxville, Thomas of Mason City and Joe of Sacramento
and one sister, Mrs. Rose Crook of Newton, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Gregory Bormann, Donald Bormannn, Lester Grace, Edward
Donahue, Leo Joynt and Gerald Hand.
