I tried to respond directly three weeks ago to C Gilroy, Clinton, Iowa,
concerning their message to Ia-Irish requesting information about the Cash
Family of Holbrook, Iowa. I have not heard back to my personal e-mail address. I
am hoping I might get a response this way.
I have researched John Cash (1827-1906) of Holbrook because I believe he is
related to my great grandfather, Michael Cash, (1840-1913) in some way,
brother or cousin??. Both came from Tipperary, John in 1847, MIke in 1860,
settled first in Illinois and then in Iowa. The different generations of each
family are mentioned in each other's lives in newspaper clippings in Iowa City.
At some times, the children were in the same schools; their names are very
similar but I guess that is the way Irish families are. I have no proof but
a STRONG feeling.
