Cindy, Normally I would tell you to look for the individual not the locale
and you will uually answer your own question. But the Spurs game is on the
tube now and I don't have time to explain my reasoning. Go to the 1880
household of Michael Foley in Iowa twp. in Dubuque co. Believe that is your
family. The town of BANGSTON was in Iowa twp. Dick
May you live to be a hundred, with an extra year to repent! Irish proverb

> This is my first posting to this list and I wonder if someone could help
me out with a placename in Iowa. Thomas FOLEY married Sadie HOGAN in
Cleveland Ohio in Nov.1910. On the marriage application he says he was born
in Baugston, Iowa. He was the son of Michael and Elizabeth FOLEY (DORSEY).
He had at least three siblings Margaret, William and Ellen all who list in
the 1920 Chicago Ill. census that they too were born in Iowa.
> I've looked for the placename Baugston and have come to the conclusion
that it must be misspelled. Could someone tell me did this place exist? I
can't locate it.
