A note on Ancestry's 1885 index Mary. It is by surname within a specific
populated place. So while it would give you every Pheonix/Phoenix in Des
Moines twp, you couldn't tell if they were in the same household. Nor could
you tell if there were other surnamed individuals in the h/h. Gotta' look at
the film for that info. Dick
