Narilyn: Just as your ggrandfather came to Elkhart, Iowa from Ireland, sos
did my ggrnadfather, his mother, aunt and siblings. James Joseph Guthrie,
born in County Clare Sept. 8, 1837, came to Byron, Illinois with his mother,
Bridget Cusack Guthrie, in about 1848. Eventually most of the family moved
to Elkhart and surrounding communities. Some of the Guthries are also
buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, although I have not yet been there myself.
Best wishes.. Nancy
