I am trying to find marriage information on Michael Mahoney and his wife Mary Ann. In the 1860 census, he is single living with his brother Dennis and his wife Mary in the town of Monmouth, IL. Then according to the 125 year history of St. Patrick Church, Imogene, IA - "The first Catholics in the Imogene area were Michael Mahoney, age 39, and his wife Mary Ann, age 30. They arrived in the spring of 1869. Michael had helped to build the Abbey (Mellerary) and came west to look for a homesite. He settled 2 3/4 miles south of Imogene."
There is no evidence in the records of IL (online) that he married there, so my conclusion is that they married in Dubuque, IA. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Maggie Mahoney Samide
