Hi Eddie -- My husband's gg grandfather Joseph Coleman was born in Co.
Tipperary in 1828 according to his tombstone in Melrose, Iowa (Monroe
County, southern Iowa, aka Iowa's Little Ireland). His wife, again
according to tombstone, was Bridget Fennell born 1825 Co. Clare. We
have not been able to make any connections to them ... we know their
first daughter Mary Coleman (married James Foley at Melrose and died in
Hemmingsford, Nebraska) was born in 1854 in Somerset, Perry County,
Ohio, according to what a kind soul found on her tombstone. How/where
Joseph & Bridget came to US and when/where married we do not know. We
do know they had 2 children somewhere in Missouri (Margaret/Mag and
Michael) and then in Melrose they had Catherine/Kate and our Joseph
Francis was last born in 1871. The sisters Kate and Mag married
brothers named Judge and moved to Boone. Thanks for asking!
