I can remember when I was 15 years old and was able to go to summer camp in
the Ozarks and best of all to ride horses for a whole week.....
After my first day of riding, I was thrilled that I had done so well, went
to sleep, got up, went to the outhouse and thought I had been hit by a
propane torch......Had no idea what was wrong, but oh the pain.....went to
the camp nurse......"Honey, you have saddle sores" and THEY HAD JUST PUT
FRESH LIME IN THE OUTHOUSE PIT...
A memory I will never forget....had to ride with a pillow the rest of the
week....I was determined not to let it ruin my chance for a city girl from
St. Louis to ride with the wind.
