The Jack Degnan Family

Jack Degnan was born at Dike,Iowa, in 1874. His wife, Dorothy (Doll)
McNally, was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, in 1884. The McNally family came to
Palo Alto County about 1900 and settled on farm southeast of Ayrshire. Jack
Degnan came to Palo Alto County in 1907. Jack and Doll McNally were married
at the Sacred Heart Church in Ayrshire in 1916. They farmed southeast of
Ayrshire until 1919,when they moved to an acreage in Ayrshire. Jack died in
July, 1951, and Doll died in 1966.
They had one son, William. Bill graduated from Silver High School in 1932.
After high school he operated an oil station in Ayrshire until 1942, then he
accepted a position with the Palo Alto County State Bank in Emmetsburg. Bill
retired as president of that bank in 1975.

This McNally family married into my McNally family. I think they are not
related, but who knows?? Richard McNally of this McNally line married Sarah
(Sadie) McNally, my half-first cousin twice removed (how's that for a
relationship?)
