If you know (or can find out) where the Motherhouse or Chapter House is,
write to the Mother Superior of the Order, providing as much information as
you can on each individual. The letter will probably be passed on to the
Archivist, but it is always best to start at the top.
I did that for some of my people, for the Sisters of the Charity of the
Blessed Virgin Mary (commonly called BVM's) in Dubuque IA, and received a
large package of information, including photocopies of records and copies of
photos. The info included home parish or church, when received into the
Order, when professed, where they served, where and when they died, and
where they were buried.
