My relative had where he enlisted. Then I looked in the census for him. He
was listed as a Mexicn War Vet but more active in Fort Riley and Fort
Levenworth KA. No pension since he was called in to settle arguments
between the states of Kansas and Missouri but Civil war waas not declared
yet so refused.He was a member of the dragoons who were absorbed by the
Cavalry and documentatio and history of the Cavalry is kept at Fort Riley .
Could trace his regiment there.

doubt he was born on that day, but many used it -
